Sacred Heart Private School students reflect the diversity of cultures, and the economic realities of the local area. There are presently 79 boys and 89 girls in the school from Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade.
The largest percentage of our student body is of Hispanic descent. Many of the students are bilingual and Spanish is their spoken language at home. Presently, Spanish is taught in school to all the students in Grades 4 through 8.
Class size is limited to 20 students. Students are given individual attention and more time can be allotted for each child in the class. The students reflect all ability levels within the normal range. Teachers keep parents and guardians updated on student progress. In order to keep our small classes intact, we do not pull students out of class for either remediation or enrichment. Every effort is made to provide for these areas within the classroom. We can accommodate some students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) because of our small student-teacher ratio.
All students are given a wide range of educational experiences to enrich their learning. The teachers make a great effort to present interesting lessons and activities to stimulate the students’ creativity and enthusiasm, always mindful of the various learning styles of their students.
